NZ AIMS Games
We are extremely proud of our students’ performance and success at the recent NZCT AIMS GAMES. The number of medals we won collectively was truly exceptional considering our school size and shows just how much ‘heart’ our students have.
The medal table reveals that 7 Intermediates (out of 88 schools) scored more medals than us and half of all schools entered didn’t win any medals at all.
Some of the schools above us have a school roll of well over 1000 pupils showing that our 465 is extremely competitive!
Next week in the TP Times we will feature all the results on our page but to recap :
Jessica Bitcheno is the National Year 7 Female Cross Country Champion - GOLD
Gymsport Team won SILVER.
Boys Squash Team won BRONZE.
Netball Team won BRONZE.
Aerobics Team won GOLD.
Hip Hop Team won GOLD.

TPI Speech Winners
“Who says Boys are not achieving in schools?”
Congratulations to these boys who are the place getters in the Te Puke Intermediate Speech Competition.
Year 7 1st Michael Pearson, 2nd Aiden Winch and 3rd Mikaere Teki
Year 8 1st Josh Hunt, 2nd Layne Hawera and 3rd Daniel Miller
The media constantly tells us that Boys are being left behind academically – well that is not the case here at T.P.I. These boys are good examples of our young men getting involved and achieving success. Our Gifted and Talented group at T.P.I has more boys in it than girls in 2009 and together with the strategies in our “Boys Programme” we are seeing plenty of ‘blokes’ in our school achieving excellent results in academia, the arts and sport.
Great work boys!
