Cross Country Sisters Continue to Excel
Jessica Bitcheno from Te Puke Intermediate looks to already be in great form early into her Cross Country season. Last year’s AIMS Cross Country champion has been travelling throughout the North Island in quest for different races and strong competition and her results to date reflect she’s on track for another incredible season.
Te Puke Intermediate’s top Cross Country runner competing in the Girl’s U’14 division has already won the Paeroa 2XU, Te Awamutu Juniors and the Macriene Pakuranga Cross Country races. She ran in Wellington’s Mount Victoria ‘mountain race’ where she led the pack on the climb to the top but unfortunately was passed coming down finishing in second place. Jessica has plenty more races in her season and we wish her all the very best for these as she prepares to defend her AIMS title in September.
Samantha Bitcheno, Jessica’s younger sister who is in Year 7 at Te Puke Intermediate, has been running well in the Girls U’12 Cross Country races. Samantha won the 3.3km Te Awamutu race and finished 8th in the Macriene Pakuranga Cross Country. Congratulations on winning your Te Awamutu race Samantha and Te Puke wish you all the best for your future races.
