Director of Sport and P.E at Te Puke Intermediate School
Mr Cam Black

I’m delighted to be working in Te Puke Intermediate School. In just three weeks the students have demonstrated an immense amount of ‘natural talent’ and I’m really excited about the prospects of working with this.
Previously to working at TPI I was teaching overseas in the UK, Philippines and in the United Arab Emirates as a Physical Education teacher. The opportunities teaching brought overseas were incredible but it’s great to come home and work with New Zealand’s future Maria Tutaia’s, Nathan Cayless’ and Richie McCaw’s.
I’m especially looking forward to working alongside TPI’s elite sports teams and providing maximum opportunities for our teams to consistently produce their best. Providing high quality coaching sessions so the athletes are fully prepared for the high level of competition they are playing in is mandatory. This is just one step of many in order for our elite school teams to consistently produce their best. Sport is such an integral part of TPI and we all want to work hard to improve on our previous success.
I’m also looking forward to promoting sport at TPI so we see greater participation rates throughout our school. In only our third week back at school we already have nine (9) Kiwi Volley Ball teams playing on Friday afternoons at Te Puke Sports and Recreation Club. This is a fantastic start and I look forward to encouraging many more TPI students to take up an opportunity to play a sport.
